This Board is terrible (mind you I have 3 wins and 1 loss on this board). It is all about placement selection. If you guess better than the other team and get a continent bonuses first - you win. No strategy required. Plus, D5 vs D6 is acually better for the attacker than D4 vs D4 (unlike what the board designer thinks). Check the probabilities on those 2 scenarios. It might play out better if the selection was turn based with open visability or completely random.
This is a good solid board and plays suprizing close to the real axis and allies board game. The only big flaw with this board is that is gives to much power to naval territories and is not well suited for tourneys.
This is a great board for the aggressive minded player. Defensive styles won't work at all as bonuses quickly ramp up. Best played as a 6 player free for all or a 4 player 2 vs 2.
